What is a startup accelerator? A startup accelerator is a fixed-term, cohort-based programme that combines mentorship, structured curriculum, and (usually) a small amount of capital to help early-stage founders move faster than they would alone. Unlike an incubator, which can run indefinitely and at a founder’s own pace, an accelerator has a hard start and end date, culminating in a public milestone — typically a demo day in front of investors.
