Pressemitteilung: Addressing Logistics’ Hidden Biodiversity Challenge

Discover how CEVA is deploying global frameworks and local initiatives to bring nature back to logistics hubs
The global logistics sector is built on physical footprints, including vast networks of warehouses, fulfillment centers, and distribution hubs—infrastructure that traditionally requires clearing land to make way for heavy concrete surfacing. Globally, this expansion poses a significant challenge to biodiversity. As global supply chains scale to meet rising demand, the logistics industry faces an urgent responsibility to protect natural ecosystems surrounding its operations.
CEVA Logistics’ Corporate Social Responsibility strategy is built on three fundamental pillars: Acting for People, Acting for Planet, and Acting for Partners. Driven by these core values, we actively work to minimize our environmental footprint and support the communities where we operate.
This sustainability commitment takes many forms, particularly in how we mitigate the ecological impact of our logistics hubs and offices by carefully considering how and where we construct and maintain our physical operations.
Any new CEVA construction project must align with top environmental certifications like BREEAM, LEED or HQE. But to truly bring nature into urban areas, we are increasingly turning to the prestigious BiodiverCity® label. Managed by the IBPC (International Biodiversity Property Council), this label rewards real estate projects that design, build, and maintain spaces where living organisms can thrive alongside industrial operations. image of a garden (....)
