Air China Limited (Air China), a subsidiary of China National Aviation Holding Corporation Limited, opened its new direct route from Beijing to Venice on July 2 with a ceremony at the Beijing Capital International Airport, marking the 40th anniversary of air services between China and Italy.
The Beijing-Rome route was launched in 1986, marking the air connectivity of the two countries. Over the past 40 years, Air China has opened eight routes to Italy, including Beijing-Milan-Rome, Shanghai-Milan-Rome, Hangzhou-Rome and Wenzhou-Milan.
The launch of the Beijing-Venice route came following the route from Daxing, a district of Beijing, to Milan that opened in June. The Beijing-Venice route can facilitate domestic travelers’ trips to Venice, a beautiful tourist attraction, and help Chinese tourists transfer to all of Europe. Passengers can take flights via this route to the City of Canals every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. (....)
