BPO Board officially confirmed the membership of a new entity in the Baltic Ports Organization: Port of Esbjerg. This is another new member in recent months and the second this year. Thus, the organization currently has 50 members. Welcome on board!
Port Esbjerg – Connecting Europe and the rest of the world
Port Esbjerg is a strategic gateway to Europe, a cornerstone for several offshore industries and a key hub for RoRo logistics in Northern Europe. Port Esbjerg is home to more than 200 companies employing approximately 10,000 people, covering 4.8 million square metres – recently expanded by an additional 570,000 m².
For more than two decades, Port Esbjerg has been the main installation hub for the European wind industry, with four-fifths of Europe’s offshore wind capacity, a total of 27.5 GW, shipped from the port, making it an integral part of the European green energy transition. Additionally, the port serves as the primary service hub for the Danish oil and gas industry, supporting a wide range of activities in the North Sea. And each year around 4 million tonnes of cargo is handled through the port. (....)
