A liquefied natural gas (LNG) ro-ro ship capable of transporting 7,000 vehicles was delivered to Nippon Yusen Kaisha Group (NYK) on Jan 31. It is the first vessel of its kind built by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Merchants Group, for the Japanese company. NYK ordered four such ro-ro ships from China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. The ship is 199 meters long and 38 meters wide. It has 12 decks for car parking and four removable decks.As the latest-generation LNG-powered large car carrier, it is green and low-carbon, energy-saving and highly-efficient, environmentally-friendly and intrinsically safe.
