At Vanderlande, sustainability is central to everything that we do. We want to be part of the solution, and we are joining forces with customers who share our principles. Recently, we collaborated with Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), Introba and Amazon to improve the understanding of the embodied carbon of Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Together, we helped to quantify the embodied carbon of the MHE used in typical warehouse buildings for different sectors. This landmark achievement paves the way for an industry standard that can be used across Europe, calculating the embodied carbon of MHE with the goal of enabling the industry to gain a deeper understanding of its environmental impact and identify opportunities for decarbonisation.
