On 10 April, CINEA visited Amsterdam for the final mission of the ‘Zero Emission Buses for public transport in Amsterdam’ project, funded by CEF transport. Completed in December 2024, the project deployed 128 zero-emission buses and 160 charging points at various key locations throughout the city. The project supported Amsterdam in achieving the goals outlined in its ‘Roadmap Amsterdam Climate Neutral 2050’. Key objectives include transforming the city’s streets to be free of exhaust-emitting vehicles by 2030, transitioning every home from natural gas to sustainable heating solutions by around 2040, and ending the city’s reliance on coal, gas, and oil by 2050.
