The first full week of the year (2-8 January 2023, Week 1) paints a picture of growing traffic across the European aviation network. The week saw a daily average of 23,084 flights, +7% more than the last week of 2022, and +16% more than the same period at the start of 2022. In parallel, ATFM delays were down to just 42 seconds/flight, with 76% of all flights arriving on time – making Week 1 overall an encouraging start to the year. Increased traffic compared to the previous seven-day period was observed in all top 10 States, all top 10 airports, and almost all top 10 airlines. (....)
