Today, Eurostat released the European Statistical Monitor, a dashboard with monthly and quarterly indicators covering different areas, such as economy, environment, business, health and work.
This monthly updated dashboard is designed to track developments within the EU as a whole and its members, as well as the EFTA countries, providing a holistic overview of key developments. Inflation accelerates alongside a mixed business environment and declining economic sentiment
Both inflation and house prices continued to rise, whilst economic sentiment declined.
Monthly business indicators showed mixed signals - retail trade and production in services both rose, while industrial production declined. The EU balance of trade in goods worsened, due to an increase in imports and a decrease in exports. (....)
