The evaluation found that the TEN-T planning and decision making process has been largely effective in helping the EU move towards its policy objectives of having efficient infrastructure that facilitates the internal market and territorial, economic and social cohesion. The objectives of greater sustainability and increased benefits for users, on the other hand, require the substantial reinforcement of current measures. All objectives remain equally important since there are all complementary to each other. The evaluation was published by the European Commission on 26 May in the Staff Working Document on the evaluation of the Regulation (EU) N° 1315/2013 on Union Guidelines for the development of a trans-European transport network
