Pressemitteilung: Fuzhou Port Adds New Route to Boost Auto Exports to Africa

The Yuheng Pioneer, a roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) vessel operated by COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd., set sail from Jiangyin Port Area of Fuzhou Port on October 14, carrying over 2,900 vehicles, including 620 units loaded at the port.
This voyage marks the first extension of a ro-ro route from Fuzhou to South Africa and Tanzania, establishing a new maritime auto corridor that enhances BRICS economic cooperation.
Covering over 8,300 nautical miles, the Yuheng Pioneer is expected to reach South Africa in about 18 days, further positioning Fuzhou Port as a key auto export hub on China's southeast coast. It is also the eighth ro-ro export voyage from Fuzhou Port in the past two months.
The increasing frequency of shipping services highlights the port’s strong capabilities in vehicle consolidation and route operations, with a regional hub for ro-ro exports now taking shape.
While expanding its ro-ro route network, Fuzhou Port has also diversified its range of vehicle export products. Since the beginning of this year, a total of 164 new energy mining trucks have been exported from Fuzhou Port to Indonesia. With more comprehensive services for complete vehicle exports, the port has further deepened economic and trade ties between Fujian and BRICS countries, solidifying its position as a key gateway for BRICS cooperation.
