Pressemitteilung: Hitachi Rail strengthens its presence in Mexico with the development of railway systems for the Saltillo-Laredo corridor
• Hitachi Rail will contribute to the development of signaling and telecommunications railway systems for the new Saltillo–Nuevo Laredo passenger corridor, a strategic project that strengthens its presence in Mexico and consolidates its role in the modernization of the country's railway infrastructure. • The new line will cover approximately 396 kilometers, connecting Derramadero (Saltillo), Monterrey, and Nuevo Laredo, linking three key states for national economic development: Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas. Mexico - Hitachi Rail has signed a contract for a value of ~ EUR 168M for the design, development, supply, installation, and commissioning of the railway systems of the Saltillo–Nuevo Laredo corridor. The contract is part of the Mexican Government's ambitious program to reactivate and expand passenger rail transport in the country and will boost regional economic development. The scope of the contract includes: • Signaling and track protection systems based on the ETCS Level 1 standard, which guarantee high levels of reliability, interoperability, and operational efficiency. • Advanced telecommunications systems, transmission networks, and CCTV solutions to ensure the reliable and continuous operation of the service. • SCADA systems for real-time supervision and control of the infrastructure. • Comprehensive equipment for 13 passenger stations, as well as for inspection and conditioning areas, workshops, and depots. • Implementation of an Operational Control Center (OCC) and its backup center, which will allow centralized and coordinated management of railway operations.
