Pressemitteilung: IFCO France and TerreAzur Groupe Pomona launch partnership to enhance sustainability in fresh produce packaging

TerreAzur, Groupe Pomona, the fresh produce and fresh seafood branch of Groupe Pomona, France’s national leader in delivered fresh food retail for industry professionals, has entered into a long-term strategic partnership with IFCO, a global leader in reusable packaging solutions. This collaboration aims to drive sustainability and circular economy practices across TerreAzur’s supply chain and fresh food distribution operations. Central to the partnership is the replacement of single-use packaging with the IFCO SmartCycle™, a pooling system of reusable packaging containers (RPCs) that circulate continuously through the supply chain. Starting at producer sites, the RPCs are filled with fresh products and transported to customers via TerreAzur’s warehouses and trucks, going through steps of storage, order preparation, and delivery. When finished, the crates are recollected by Terre Azur & IFCO, thoroughly cleaned to the highest standards, and reintroduced into the cycle. This closed-loop system significantly reduces packaging waste and emissions across the supply chain. (....)
