Organised by Reuters Events, Road Transport USA brought together transport leaders, retailers and technology innovators to equip fleet operators with the tools and insights needed to navigate the path to carbon neutrality and maintain a competitive edge in a fast-evolving market.
With shifting regulatory frameworks, soaring e-commerce-driven freight demand, and retailers intensifying their Scope 3 emissions targets (indirect greenhouse gas emissions from across a company’s value chain), the need for pragmatic and scalable decarbonisation solutions has never been greater.
IRU Senior Adviser for the Americas Martin Rojas led a high-level interactive workshop on fuel efficiency, joined by representatives from Amazon, Ryder, Cummins, Prologis, C.H. Robinson, and Chevron.
He opened the session by presenting IRU’s Green Compact and its four core workstreams, setting the foundation for a dynamic exchange. With the Green Compact, IRU aims to build a global, pragmatic, collaborative, evidence-based approach to support the most optimal and cost-effective approaches to decarbonise road transport. The discussion highlighted that many companies are embedding sustainability deeply within their corporate strategies, reflecting the industry’s commitment to decarbonisation. (....)
