Tokyo, February 21, 2024 ―Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. announced today that it has been adopted for high-pressure hydrogen regulators to be used in a new fuel cell city bus by one of the world’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturers in Germany. The product plays the important role of reducing the pressure of hydrogen gas, which is supplied from a hydrogen tank installed on the fuel cell bus at a high pressure of approximately 350 atmospheres, until the pressure reaches a level where the gas can be used in the fuel cell stack.1 This regulator contributes to space savings and increased range by improving fuel efficiency. This is achieved by enabling efficient reduction of hydrogen gas pressure using high-precision gas control technology, and by stabilizing hydrogen gas pressure during power generation. At the same time, it offers superior reliability, having cleared durability tests that suggest a life of 20 years. (....)
