Pressemitteilung: Marsa Maroc and CMA CGM finalize the agreement for the operation of a container terminal at the Port of Nador West Med
• Marsa Maroc and CMA Terminals, a subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, have joined forces to operate the West Container Terminal at the Port of Nador West Med, a major strategic hub on Morocco’s Mediterranean coast. • A joint venture, 51% owned by Marsa Maroc and 49% by CMA Terminals, subject to the approval of the competent authorities, will be responsible for the management and development of the terminal. • Scheduled to become operational in 2027, the terminal will offer an annual handling capacity of 1.8 million TEUs and will serve as a major transshipment hub in the Mediterranean, strengthening Morocco’s integration into global maritime trade routes. Following the signature, in October 2024, of a comprehensive framework agreement between the Tanger Med Group and CMA CGM, Marsa Maroc and CMA Terminals today announce the signing of a partnership agreement marking CMA Terminals’ entry into the share capital of the company holding the concession for the West Terminal at the Port of Nador West Med, a major Moroccan port located on the Mediterranean. Upon completion of this agreement, subject to the approval of the competent authorities, Marsa Maroc will hold 51% of the share capital and voting rights of the concession company, while CMA Terminals will hold the remaining 49%.
