Ghent, Belgium – March 4, 2026 – Milence, the joint venture between Daimler Truck, the TRATON GROUP and the Volvo Group, today opened a new public charging hub in Ghent and its fourth in Belgium. Strategically located just off the Schansakker exit on the R4, the hub offers electric trucks a seamless and reliable charging experience in one of Belgium’s most vital industrial and logistics regions.
Built in collaboration with Volvo Group the Ghent charging hub is part of a broader zero-emission mobility initiative designed to accelerate the shift to fossil-free road transport. In its first phase, the hub features four high-power CCS charging bays, each capable of delivering up to 400 kW, making it an essential stop for fleet operators on the move. In a second development phase, Milence also plans a swift transition to Megawatt Charging System (MCS) technology, enabling faster, more reliable, and more efficient charging, with truck batteries charged in 30 to 45 minutes. The solution is already in operation at Milence hubs in Zwolle (Netherlands), the Port of Antwerp-Bruges (Belgium), and Landvetter (Sweden). (....)
