May 22, 2025) – A new study commissioned by EIT Urban Mobility, Transport for London (TfL) and the Greater London Authority (GLA) reveals that non-exhaust emissions (NEEs – particles released from brake, tyre and road surface wear) are now the main source of particulate pollution from road transport. The findings were presented today at the International Transport Forum’s Annual Summit in Leipzig by Yoann Le Petit, Thought Leadership Manager at EIT Urban Mobility, alongside colleagues from TfL and the GLA.
