GYSEV Ltd.’s procurement project for 11 FLIRT InterCity electric multiple units has reached a major milestone: the first vehicle has been completed at Stadler’s production facility in Siedlce, Poland. The newly built train was officially presented to the management of GYSEV and to Hungary’s Minister of Transport and Investments, Dávid Vitézy. The completion of the first unit marks an important stage in the project that will see GYSEV’s new InterCity fleet gradually enter service from 2027 onwards.
The procurement of 11 FLIRT electric multiple units is the first acquisition of rolling stock specifically designed for InterCity services in Hungary in three decades, making the project a significant milestone in the modernization of the country’s railway transport system. (....)
