A new direct container shipping route from Dalian Port to the Mediterranean officially commenced operations on February 18. The route connects major ports in countries such as Egypt, Turkey and Israel, establishing a more stable and efficient maritime logistics corridor between China’s northeastern region and the Mediterranean. Operated by the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), the new route will deploy 16 container ships, each with a capacity of 19,000 TEUs, to provide weekly service. The route will meet the growing demand for import and export products between China’s northeastern region and Mediterranean countries, particularly in chemicals, automobiles and auto parts, mechanical equipment and mineral resources. This shipping service is expected to further strengthen trade and economic cooperation between the two regions. (....)
