Nippon Express (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (President: Akira Hiraoka, hereafter "NX Malaysia"), a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC. (President: Satoshi Horikiri), held a completion ceremony on May 27 to mark the opening of a new warehouse - the Batu Kawan Logistics Center - near Batu Kawan Industrial Park located on Peninsular Malaysia in Penang State.
The state of Penang has the second largest economy in Malaysia after Greater Kuala Lumpur and, as a major semiconductor hub, has become known as the "Silicon Valley of the East". The Penang state government is also actively seeking to attract medical equipment manufacturers, while strong domestic consumption and booming import/export operations are driving greater demand for logistics services, especially for semiconductor- and medical equipment-related products. NX Malaysia has opened a new warehouse near the Batu Kawan Industrial Park to help meet this growing demand. (....)
