Passenger trips on the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway, the first of its kind in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, have risen to 2 million since the line began operation on Oct 17, 2023. It is a cooperative flagship project of China and Indonesia under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. At present, 40 trains are scheduled to run on the railway every day and seats for passengers have been increased to more than 20,000. The peak daily passenger trips have reached 21,537, with a peak passenger occupancy rate of nearly 100 percent. (....)
