Pressemitteilung: PIL expands its operations at Jeddah Islamic Port through the “RGS” and “RS2” shipping services

The Saudi Ports Authority (“Mawani”) announced that Pacific International Lines (PIL) has expanded its operations at Jeddah Islamic Port through the “RGS” and “RS2” shipping services. This move strengthens the port’s position as a major logistics hub on the Red Sea, supports the competitiveness of Saudi ports, facilitates global trade movement, and enhances operational efficiency.
The “RGS” shipping service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with four regional and international ports, including Nhava Sheva and Mundra in India, Djibouti, and Berbera in Somalia, before returning to Jeddah Islamic Port. The service has a capacity of up to 1,810 TEUs.
Meanwhile, the “RS2” service links Jeddah Islamic Port with nine major ports across Asia and the Middle East, including Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, and Shekou in China; Singapore; Djibouti; Sokhna in Egypt; and Aqaba in Jordan. The service provides a capacity of up to 11,923 TEUs, further expanding the port’s global connectivity.
This development comes as part of Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani)’s ongoing efforts to enhance Saudi Arabia’s position in global performance indicators and support the growth of national exports. It aligns with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to establish the Kingdom as a leading global logistics hub connecting three continents. (....)
