Real progress in autonomous trucking is measured on real roads, moving real freight. The announcement today on the launch of our Level 4 autonomous fleet trial program with International places a factory-integrated International autonomous truck powered by the PlusAI SuperDrive™ virtual driver into a live freight operation. As part of the trial, Ryder System, Inc. is operating a daily 600-mile route along the I-35 corridor between Ryder locations in Laredo and Temple, Texas.
Moving to real-world operations
Designed to demonstrate that autonomous technology can be seamlessly integrated into existing customer operations, this autonomous trial uses an International autonomous truck to run a dedicated transportation route for a Ryder supply chain customer. This allows Ryder and International to evaluate performance, reliability, and operational requirements under real-world conditions.
