Rhenus and Schwalbe are building upon their successful collaboration and extending their contract for another five years. The Rhenus logistics centre in Wesel, Germany will henceforth handle the complete after-sales goods volume of Europe’s leading bicycle tyre manufacture. Efficient and more sustainable routes, together with a tailored warehouse set-up, were decisive factors in strengthening the partnership. Short Transport Routes and a New Concept for Bale Goods Decisive criteria for the contract extension included, among other things, the sustainability credentials of the Rhenus site in Wesel. Short transport routes to and from Rotterdam, the use of electric trucks, geothermal energy and the photovoltaic installation all played an important role. (....)
