Benchmarking process seeks to establish potential of single control technology for all Scania’s unmanned mobile robots, before a pilot can get underway next year. For many companies, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) are a crucial part of today’s production and logistics operations, and their use is growing all the time. Scania uses these unmanned portable robots, which include forklifts, trains, towing devices and smaller lifting robots, in many different applications. Our production site in Brazil has around 300 of these machines, while the numbers in Sweden and elsewhere are steadily increasing. (....)
