Many service areas continued to recover in the fourth quarter of 2021, following the severe hit due to the COVID-19 crisis and subsequent containment measures in the spring of 2020. Service turnover in the EU fell by 27% between the pre-pandemic fourth quarter of 2019 and the second quarter of 2020. However, service turnover was 7% higher in the last quarter of 2021 compared with the last quarter of 2019 (calendar-adjusted data). (....)
