September 16, 2026 – Smart Freight Centre (SFC) and Prologis today announced a new collaboration to help align heavy-duty vehicle charging infrastructure with road freight demand in Europe.
As electric road freight begins to scale, charging is expected to develop first in and around the logistics locations where trucks operate, dwell and return. SFC and Prologis will work together to help align infrastructure planning more closely with freight flows, fleet operations and site readiness.
SFC brings expertise in freight decarbonisation, corridor development and ecosystem collaboration, supported by a global network of more than 200 members. Prologis, one of the world’s largest logistics real estate companies, brings real estate expertise along with the sites and infrastructure needed to support charging where fleets operate.
As fleets electrify, logistics sites are increasingly becoming places where charging, power capacity and day-to-day operations need to work together. That makes charging-ready logistics real estate an important part of the infrastructure needed to support zero-emission freight. (....)
