Today, Waberer’s International Nyrt. and Budapest Airport Zrt. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at accelerating the development of air cargo transportation and logistics in Hungary. The collaboration reinforces the national ambition to establish Hungary as the most competitive air cargo distribution hub in Central Europe. At the heart of the agreement is a shared commitment to unlock synergies that will support sustained growth in logistics—one of Hungary’s most strategic sectors—for the next decade and beyond.
Since coming under state ownership, Budapest Airport has shown strong momentum in air cargo performance and is committed to becoming Central Europe’s leading hub for air and cargo operations. In recent years, a highly developed cargo ecosystem has emerged at the airport, and now Waberer’s—Hungary’s leading logistics company—is poised to play an active role within it, as the first fully Hungarian, complex logistics provider to do so. With its extensive logistics expertise and comprehensive service portfolio, Waberer’s brings significant added value to Hungary’s air cargo infrastructure. Under the agreement, both parties will explore the possibilities of long-term professional cooperation from various angles, with the shared goal of leveraging synergies that contribute to value creation and growth—helping to further strengthen the competitiveness of Ferenc Liszt International Airport as a multimodal hub in the region.
