Global Flight Cancellations Fall 17% as Airlines and Airports Strengthen Operational Performance

Global flight cancellations declined from 71,840 in July to 59,785 in August, representing a 17% month-over-month improvement in global aviation operations. Asia Pacific recorded the strongest reduction at 23%, followed by North America at 20% and the Middle East and Africa at 15%.
Regional results remained uneven, with cancellations rising 34% in Latin America and edging up 0.36% in Europe. These contrasting trends demonstrate the importance of tracking airline on-time performance and flight disruption across individual aviation markets.
Aeromexico became the global and Latin American leader with an 89.74% on-time arrival rate, while Singapore Airlines moved into first place in Asia Pacific at 87.91%. WestJet, SAS and FlySafair retained their respective regional leadership positions. (....)
