Global on-time performance held firm despite rising flight cancellations.
The average on-time arrival rate among airlines in Cirium’s global ranking reached 85.88% in October 2026, remaining close to September’s 86.04% and ahead of the results recorded in July and August. The global flight cancellations increased 19% month over month, rising from 47,670 in September to 56,524 in October. However, the global total masks significant differences between regions. Cancellation pressure increased in the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and Europe, while North America and Latin America recorded declines.
The October results underline an important aviation industry trend: a single strong month can indicate recovery, but consistent on-time performance provides a clearer measure of operational resilience.
