As currently drafted, the EU’s proposed targets don't require manufacturers to increase their sales of electric vans above a tiny share. / Climate targets for van-makers need to be ramped up to increase the supply of zero-emission vans, a coalition of cities, companies, and environment and public health campaigners have told EU lawmakers. The group, which includes the cities of Paris, Dublin, Rotterdam, Gothenburg, Palermo, Haarlem, Tilburg and Wałbrzych, also fully support the plan to end the sales of combustion engine vans in 2035. Europe urgently needs to reduce its oil dependency and accelerate the transition to zero-emission mobility. (....)
