In 2025, the EU exported €36.9 billion worth of goods to Australia and imported €10.2 billion, resulting in a €26.7 billion trade surplus.
Exports dropped by 4.9% compared with 2024 but increased by 39.6% compared with 2015. Similarly, imports decreased by 4.8% compared with 2024 and increased by 49.9% compared with 2015.

Exporting medicinal and pharmaceutical products, importing solid fuels
The top 5 most exported product groups, categorised by the Standard International Trade Classification, accounted for 47.3% of the total value of goods exported to Australia. These were medicinal and pharmaceutical products (13.1%), road vehicles (11.1%), general industrial machinery and equipment (9.5%), electrical machinery, appliances and electrical parts (6.9%) and machinery specialised for particular industries (6.7%).
