Logistic process automation specialist Vanderlande aims to become more sustainable in all aspects of its business. As part of that commitment, the company is joining forces with like-minded customers and suppliers to make changes that will help cut emissions and use the Earth’s resources more wisely. In a recent pilot project, Vanderlande collaborated with a leading footwear manufacturer to find ways of reducing energy consumption at a large distribution centre (DC). By taking a broad approach to optimising power usage in the DC’s material handling system, tangible savings were found without compromising on operational efficiency. (....)
