Vanderlande has secured a contract to supply the baggage handling system (BHS) for Guangzhou Baiyun Airport’s new Terminal 3 building. The award includes a five-year site-based service contract. The new BHS is based on Vanderlande’s TUBTRAX individual carrier system for the transportation and sortation of baggage. It also includes ADAPTO BAGSTORE, which provides 2,376 storage locations for early bags and enables an on-demand flight make-up process. In addition, the solution features the company’s DROP@EASE self-bag drop system, which allows passengers to place their luggage directly into a TUBTRAX tub. This saves time at check-in, minimises in-system times and optimises the traceability of bags. (....)
