Pressemitteilung: Waberer’s to Replace Nearly 1,000 Vehicles Again This Year
In 2026, Waberer’s continues the fleet renewal programme it has been consistently building for several years. As a result of this year’s vehicle tenders, the company will replace a total of 925 units across its international road fleet and its Hungary-based logistics segment. The replacement programme represents an investment of approximately EUR 57 million. The aim is to strengthen high availability and reliable customer service, while newer vehicles—through more efficient operations—also support the company’s sustainability ambitions. European benchmark: Waberer’s operates one of the youngest fleets in the EU In a European comparison, average fleet ages are significantly higher. According to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), the average age of the truck fleet in the EU is 13.9 years, which is well above the average fleet age of major international operators. Expected development of Waberer’s international and domestic fleets Waberer’s implements fleet renewal on an annual basis in predictable cycles, ensuring stable operations while keeping vehicles continuously up to date. The average age of the vehicles operating in international transport was slightly above 3 years at the end of 2025; following the 2026 replacements, it is expected to decrease again to an average of around 2 years. In parallel, the average age of our international trailer fleet is also expected to further decrease by the end of 2026. (....)
