Pressemitteilung: Western China’s Largest High-Speed Rail Hub Nears Completion

The China Railway Construction Corporation Limited is nearing the completion of Chongqing East Railway Station, which will be the largest high-speed rail hub in western China. Located at the intersection of key national high-speed rail corridors, the station spans approximately 1.23 million square meters, with 15 platforms and 29 tracks. It integrates high-speed rail, urban rail transit, public buses, long-distance coaches, taxis, commercial facilities and office spaces into a comprehensive transportation hub. The station features the world’s first ultra-tall, multi-curved tree-shaped columns, standing up to 41 meters tall. Their exteriors are adorned with nearly 1,200 stainless steel panels, each 3 mm thick. The elevated waiting hall boasts a highly transparent glass curtain wall, while the ceiling is decorated with 130 kilometers of aluminum round tubes. (....)
