The Xihoumen railway-highway dual-use bridge of the Ningbo-Zhoushan railway in East China's Zhejiang Province broke ground on Oct 31. Designed and constructed by China Railway Bridge Science Research Institute, Ltd. and China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd. respectively, both subsidiaries of China Railway Group Limited, the bridge is expected to be 2,664 meters with a 1,488-meter main span cable-stayed-suspension system.
