Pressemitteilung: Wuhan Launches First Zero-Carbon Freight Train to Europe
On August 13, the China-Europe Railway Express (Wuhan) launched Central China’s first zero-carbon green freight train from the CRIntermodal Wuhan Center Station. Carrying automotive parts, daily necessities, and other goods, the train is bound for Hamburg and Duisburg in Germany. This eco-friendly initiative, developed by Wuhan Asia-Europe Logistics Co., Ltd. and DB Cargo Eurasia, aligns with China’s dual-carbon goals while enhancing international trade efficiency. The train operates on 100 percent green electricity along electrified sections, while residual emissions from non-electrified sections are offset through carbon credit projects certified under the Gold Standard established by the World Wide Fund for Nature.
