Tariff pause may drive trade in July as retailers stock up for peak season
Cargo moving through the Port of Long Beach slowed in June, but a pause on tariffs could drive a rebound for trade in July.
Dockworkers and terminal operators processed 704,403 twenty-foot equivalent units in June, down 16.4% from the same month last year. Imports declined 16.9% to 348,681 TEUs and exports dropped 10.9% to 87,627 TEUs. Empty containers moving through the Port decreased 17.4% to 268,095 TEUs.

North Sea Port: North Sea Port cargo throughput remains stable in first half of the year (16.07.2025)
Over the first six months of this year, the companies based in North Sea Port recorded a volume of 33.2 million tons of seaborne cargo transhipment. Despite a small dip of 1.2%, dry and liquid bulk transhipment held up well. The decline is in the general cargo and roll-on/roll-off traffic.
Thanks to the diversification of activities and types of goods in our (bulk) port, cargo throughput remained more or less static during the first six months. In total, 0.4 million fewer tons (-1.2%) of maritime cargo was transhipped than in the same period in 2024. Remarkably, transhipment in the second quarter was exactly the same as in the first quarter of this year, at 15.6 million tons.

Halbjahresbilanz 2025: Flughafen Hahn steigert Passagierzahlen um über 20 Prozent
Erfolgreiche erste Jahreshälfte für den TRIWO Hahn Airport: Von Januar bis einschließlich Juni 2025 haben mehr als eine Million Passagiere den Flughafen genutzt. Das sind über 20 Prozent mehr als im Vorjahreszeitraum. Auch beim Frachtgeschäft konnte der Airport zulegen: In den ersten sechs Monaten 2025 fertigte der Flughafen Hahn mehr als 50.000 Tonnen ab – ein Plus von rund 2,5 Prozent, verglichen mit dem Vorjahreszeitraum.

AB Volvo: Volvo Group – the second quarter 2025 (17.07.2025)
“In a quarter characterized by a general stabilization of the European market and more of uncertainty and a wait and see mode among customers in North America, the Volvo Group's net sales declined by 5% adjusted for currency movements and amounted to SEK 122.9 billion (140.2). Sales of vehicles were 6% lower than in Q2 2024 when adjusted for currency, while the underlying service development remained robust, supported by continued good utilization of vehicles and machines. Our service sales were on the same level as in the previous year when adjusted for currency, and on a rolling 12-month basis revenues in our service business amounted to SEK 126.3 billion. On the lower vehicle volumes, we generated an adjusted operating income of SEK 13.5 billion (19.4) with an adjusted operating margin of 11.0% (13.9),” says Martin Lundstedt, President and CEO.

Royal Schiphol Group: Traffic and transport figures for June 2025 (18.07.2025)
6 million passengers flew to, from or via Schiphol in June 2025. It is an increase of 1% compared to 2024. Most passengers flew to Spain, the United Kingdom and Italy. The number of flights to and from Schiphol was 40,737. That is a decrease of 0.3% compared to 2024.
Amount of passengers 
In June 2025, 6 million passengers flew to, from or via Schiphol. 3,8 million departed from or arrived at Schiphol, and almost 2.2 million transferred at the airport. There were more than one million transfer passengers, who are counted twice in accordance with the international counting method: once as an arriving passenger and once as a departing passenger.
