Köln/Düsseldorf. Das Themenfeld Mobilitätsmanagement gewinnt in Nordrhein-Westfalen weiter an Bedeutung. Mit den aktuellen Absolventinnen und Absolventen steigt die Zahl der ausgebildeten Mobilitätsmanagerinnen und Mobilitätsmanagern im Land auf 394. Sie alle haben den Lehrgang „Kommunales Mobilitätsmanagement“ des Zukunftsnetz Mobilität NRW erfolgreich abgeschlossen und werden künftig in ihren Verwaltungen und Organisationen zentrale Ansprechpartner für moderne, sichere und nachhaltige Mobilität sein.

Die Teilnehmer der zweiten Runde der Fußverkehrs-Checks in Rheinland-Pfalz stehen fest. Wirtschaftsstaatssekretärin Petra Dick-Walther überreichte den zehn Gewinnerkommunen im Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Verkehr, Landwirtschaft und Weinbau ihre Urkunden. Dazu waren sowohl die Bürgermeisterinnen und Bürgermeister als auch Mitarbeitende der Fachebene eingeladen. Eine unabhängige Jury hatte die Kommunen ausgewählt.

Eisenbahner mit Herz: Arverio Zugbegleiter aus Baden-Württemberg überzeugt Reisende mit vollem Einsatz
Berlin/Ulm, 17.03.2026. Über 6.000 Menschen haben bei der Auszeichnung „Eisenbahner/in mit Herz“ der Allianz pro Schiene über den Sieger in der Kategorie Publikumsliebling abgestimmt. Publikumsliebling 2026 ist Ronald-Phillip Tolkiehn von Arverio Baden-Württemberg. Mit über 1.300 abgegebenen Stimmen setzte er sich vor einem Trio der Länderbahn bestehend aus Sven Schimmel, Manuel Drechsel und Steffen Richter mit knapp 800 Stimmen und Jonas Kneesch (DB InfraGO) mit rund 500 Stimmen durch.

SAS AB: SAS ranked #1 in Sustainable Brand Index airline category in Denmark and Sweden (March 17, 2026)
SAS has once again been ranked number 1 in the airline category in Denmark and Sweden in the Sustainable Brand Index 2026, Europe’s largest independent study of consumer perceptions related to sustainability. The recognition comes at a time when the aviation industry is working to accelerate the transition toward alternatives to conventional jet fuel. 
The ranking reflects Danish and Swedish consumers’ perception of SAS in relation to environmental and social responsibility. Based on extensive consumer surveys, the index measures public perception rather than documented sustainability performance.

Europäische Kommission - Abteilung Mobility and Transport: Riga wins European Mobility Week Award for promoting active and sustainable transport  (18 March 2026)
Last night, Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, awarded Riga, Latvia, the European Mobility Week Award and the autonomous province of Bolzano/Bozen, in Italy, the Mobility Action Award, recognising leadership in sustainable urban mobility during 2025.
Riga stood out for promoting sustainable urban transport through initiatives like the 'Tweed Ride' and 'Riga Rolls', engaging schools, families, and residents in walking, cycling, and rollerblading challenges. Riga has also expanded bicycle infrastructure and 30 km/h zones, ensuring safer, people-centred streets in the city. Bolzano/Bozen advanced sustainable tourism through the Südtirol/Alto Adige guest pass, offering unlimited access to public transport and certain cable cars. The pass encourages visitors to leave their cars behind, reducing congestion and emissions, beneficial to residents and visitors alike. In addition, Braga in Portugal received special mention for walking, cycling, and shared transport initiatives.

Skytrax: Fukuoka Airport is Certified as a 5-Star Regional Airport (18th March 2026)
Fukuoka Airport has been awarded the global 5-Star Regional Airport quality rating by SKYTRAX, the international air transport rating organisation.
Fukuoka Airport is Japan’s fourth-busiest airport and one of Japan’s most accessible airports, being located only two subway stops from Hakata Station in the city center. The airport’s passenger traffic is projected to reach a record 28.56 million in the fiscal year 2025.
The Audit of Fukuoka Airport was completed by the SKYTRAX audit team in January, and the key improvements that raised the airport to a 5-Star Rating standard is the transformation and extensions to the International Terminal.
