Am 7. Oktober 2025 hat das Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) Geburtstag. Auf den Tag genau vor 200 Jahren unterschrieb Großherzog Ludwig I. von Baden das Gründungsdekret für die erste Vorgängerinstitution der heutigen Exzellenzuniversität, die Polytechnische Schule in Karlsruhe. Der Fürst gründete diese aus „Sorge für die Bildung unseres lieben und getreuen Bürgerstandes“. Heute ist das KIT ein Ort, an dem Wissenschaft Zukunft gestaltet: mit Energie- Mobilitäts- und Klimaforschung, Robotik und Künstlicher Intelligenz.
