Leinfelden-Echterdingen/Hannover – Tobias Wagner alias „Elektrotrucker“ startet am Sonntag auf der IAA Transportation auf seine Weltreise mit einem Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 Expeditionsmobil. Der erfahrene Lkw-Fahrer und Content Creator will innerhalb von rund einem Jahr die Welt erstmals mit einem batterieelektrischen Fernverkehrs-Lkw umrunden. Die geplante Route umfasst rund 45.000 Kilometer durch rund 30 Länder in Europa, Asien, Australien, Nord- und Südamerika und soll mit maximal 80 Ladungen bewältigt werden. Ziel der Expedition ist es, die Leistungsfähigkeit batterieelektrischer Fernverkehrstechnologie unter unterschiedlichsten geografischen, klimatischen und infrastrukturellen Bedingungen zu dokumentieren und gleichzeitig den Dialog über den Ausbau der Ladeinfrastruktur für den Straßengüterverkehr zu fördern.

Foton International: Entering the Megawatt Charging Era: BAIC FOTON Officially Launches the CAVAN BEACON in Hannover (2026-09-18)
On September 14, IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 opened in Hannover, Germany. On the opening day, BAIC FOTON held its Global Strategy and New Product Launch, where it officially introduced the CAVAN BEACON, its flagship new-energy heavy-duty truck. Designed for long-haul transportation, the CAVAN BEACON focuses on key operational priorities such as energy replenishment efficiency, payload capacity, and long-term operating performance. Developed on a dedicated platform compatible with both hydrogen and battery-electric powertrains, the vehicle applies integrated system innovation to address real-world operational needs and provides a more comprehensive product approach for the deployment of new-energy heavy-duty trucks in long-haul transportation.
For battery-electric heavy-duty trucks, charging efficiency directly affects how smoothly the vehicle can fit into existing transport schedules. Shorter charging times help reduce additional downtime caused by recharging and support more efficient vehicle operations.
CAVAN BEACON supports charging power of up to 1.44 MW, enabling a 20%–80% charge in around 18 minutes. A 6-minute charge can add approximately 100 km of driving range. The hydrogen fuel-cell version can be refueled in about 15 minutes and offers a driving range of up to 1,000 km.

HANNOVER, Germany, September 2026 — SINOTRUK is presenting a range of battery electric trucks, electric powertrain technologies and integrated energy solutions at IAA Transportation 2026, spanning long-haul logistics, construction transport and urban distribution.
A centrepiece of the show is the SITRAK 4×2 battery-electric tractor for long-haul logistics. With a curb weight of just 10.1 tonnes and a gross combination weight (GCW) of up to 44 tonnes, the truck delivers greater payload capacity without compromising transport efficiency. Optimised aerodynamic design, energy management and energy recovery help the truck consume as little as 1.1 kWh per kilometre. The 600 kWh battery supports megawatt-level charging, with a 20–80% charge taking approximately 23 minutes.
In addition, the vehicle comes with a spacious long-haul cab, digital rear-view mirrors and a range of smart driver-assistance functions based on multi-sensor fusion.
From Vehicles to the Energy Ecosystem
In addition to vehicles, SINOTRUK is presenting an integrated wind-solar-storage-charging-swapping solution designed to support the energy needs of new-energy commercial vehicle operations.
