Pressemitteilung: Plug-in-Hybride in Europa stoßen fünfmal mehr CO2 aus als offiziell angegeben

Berlin, 2. Juni 2026 — Eine neue Studie des International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) zeigt, dass Plug-in-Hybride in Europa im Durchschnitt fünfmal mehr Kohlendioxid (CO2) ausstoßen als die offiziellen Testwerte ausweisen. Zwischen 2021 und 2023 hat sich die Lücke zwischen offiziellen und realen Emissionen weiter vergrößert – weil die Fahrzeuge im Alltag deutlich seltener rein elektrisch unterwegs sind als angenommen. 
Plug-in-Hybride, die 2025 neun Prozent der Neuzulassungen in Europa ausmachten, können sowohl elektrisch als auch mit Verbrennungsmotor angetrieben werden. Die Hersteller bewerben diese Flexibilität als Vorteil für Fahrer und Klima gleichermaßen. Doch Studien stellen die offiziellen Verbrauchs- und Emissionsangaben bereits seit Jahren in Frage. 
„Im realen Straßenbetrieb verbrauchen Plug-in-Hybride deutlich mehr Kraftstoff als offiziell angegeben. Diese Studie bestätigt, was frühere Untersuchungen – auch unsere eigenen – bereits gezeigt haben. Wenn die EU-Gesetzgeber dieses Problem nicht lösen, werden Hersteller weiterhin Emissionen ausweisen, die weit unter dem liegen, was die Fahrzeuge tatsächlich verursachen“, sagt Sonsoles Díaz, Senior-Wissenschaftlerin am ICCT und Mitverfasserin der Studie. Pressemitteilung: New Cycling Counts study provides first EU-wide baseline for cycling infrastructure and data collection

Today, on the World Bicycle Day, the European Commission has published a Cycling Counts study assessing the current state of cycling within the European Union. 
The study established an EU-wide baseline for cycling infrastructure and proposed a data collection methodology across four dimensions: cycle network, cycle use, safety of cyclists, and cycling-related services such as bike share, cycle parking and cycle logistics. The study identified over 900 000 km of cycling paths and lanes network at EU level – providing a first comparable EU overview of the network accessible to cyclists and forming the baseline for future monitoring. 
Cycling levels in Europe show strong variation, and results depend on differing national survey methods, but data shows that almost 24% of EU residents cycle at least once per week. In terms of cycle services, looking at almost 300 EU cities with 150 000 inhabitants, data shows that bike sharing services are present in the vast majority of them, corresponding to a fleet size of about 300 000 bikes. Pressemitteilung: World's longest-range aircraft, the Airbus A350-1000ULR takes to the skies

Toulouse, France, 2 June 2026 - The A350-1000ULR (MSN 707), the first of 12 aircraft ordered by Qantas has completed its first flight in Toulouse, France. The aircraft, fitted with special flight test instrumentation, flew for three hours 43 minutes reaching an altitude of slightly above 41,000 feet. The aircraft was flown by a dedicated Airbus Flight Test crew. 
The A350-1000ULR is being developed for Qantas Airways to enable non-stop flights between Sydney and London for the first time ever - a distance of almost 10,000 nautical miles, with flight times of up to 22 hours. This is made possible primarily by the integration into the aircraft structure of an additional rear centre tank (RCT), enhancing further the aircraft performance and increasing the range of the aircraft by 1,000 nautical miles. 
During the first flight the crew carried out general aircraft performance checks and tested the new fuel system architecture. This marks the start of a two month flight test campaign to certify the modifications. In addition, a new galley air cooling system will also be certified, which features lighter and more efficient refrigeration units for very long flights. The ventilation and temperature control of the cabin will also be thoroughly tested. 
Following the flight test campaign, MSN 707 will be retrofitted to Qantas’ commercial specifications. (.… → zur Pressemitteilung)
